The Giver is about a boy named Jonas and his small town. In the town they have restrictions of what they are allowed to say or do. In his small town when they are old enough they are given their jobs. Jonas is given his job of being the next Giver learning from the former Giver. The Giver is giving him all the memories the town had and he discovers a lot that he nor anyone knew. But with his job he was not allowed to share this information with anyone not even his family only the giver that was going to retire. As he discovers more of what the past holds then he realizes that he must leave to save his friends and family. He realizes what his town is actually made of and knows what he must do. Although Jonas has his friends and family he knows that if he doesn’t do this his family and friends are being blinded. I would recommend this book to you if you like books with mysteries and solving puzzles. I think also people who like to read books with surprises, action and adventure. I like this book because it had some action and surprises you never would have guessed would happen. This book was fun and exciting, as i didnt know what would come next or what surprises awaited. I would strongly suggest everyone to read this book. Especially people who feel like they want a book to sit in bed with or enjoy during a break. This book captures the perfect feel of what a town with regulations deal with.
