My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The latest installment in the Young Sherlock Holmes series by Andrew Lane does not disappoint. I recently read another novel for young adults in which the main characters seemed simultaneously completely inattentive to the world around her, and yet also able to consistently make the right decisions, almost as if by magic. One of the things I love about these Young Sherlock Holmes novels is that Sherlock, unlike that unfortunately written character, is believable, and the author lays out the clues for you, the reader, just as they are being laid out for Sherlock, allowing you to not only believe the conclusions he is able to draw, but sometimes even to come to them yourself.
I won’t say more, since this is a sequel and I don’t want to spoil anything, but if you have not yet begun reading this series. You should. The first book, in case you missed it, is called “Death Cloud”, and will be coming soon to the Jordan library, along with the rest of the series. Enjoy!
